Database Development Process
Development Process

The first step in developing a quality solution that achieves what you want, is assessing your information management needs.

We work together with you to understand your database requirements:

  • What you want to store
  • How you want to use it and functions required e.g. automated billing
  • What reports you require

"We look at the whole picture, up front."

The analysis process is useful for all involved. It is an opportunity for us to understand your business and suggest ideas that you may not have considered and for you to understand exactly what you will get.

The requirement process is typically conducted in a series of workshops.

The decisions of these sessions are incorporated into a document. This process iterates until we have discussed all requirements of the database and you are satisfied.

The documented requirements provide three key benefits:

  1. You have a fully documented specification of exactly what the system is going to do,
  2. We understand your needs so well we can provide an accurate development cost,
  3. It forms the basis of development, testing and approval of the system. You can imagine without such a document development would be risky and not focused. This is a critical stage, and done correctly will set a very solid foundation for success well into the future!

Other key phases include:

  • Testing
  • User guide
  • Installation
  • Training and ongoing support.

Our clients have made significant improvements to their business in terms of efficiency, cost savings or improved service thorough the use of database technology. See their testimonials or contact us.
