About us
We provide a full range of IT services to approx 160 clients (since 1994). We have great relationships with our clients and deliver a quality service with high levels of professionalism. The key consultant has run the company for 15 years providing database, web design and IT support services. We have a varied client base from Government to small business.
Being a small and flexible environment you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects on a daily basis - so you won’t be getting bored coding in a back room! Currently our IT Support person also provides web development and maintenance; this situation would be ideal however we are after IT Support experience 1st and any other skills you have are a bonus.

We have a strong focus on “service” and caring for our clients so you must be presentable, professional and have good communication skills. A good attitude, common sense and loads of initiative are the most important skills we are looking for.
The ideal candidate will:
• Have great people skills, friendly disposition and a polite communication manner
• Be 150% client focused and able to confidently meet and relate professionally with clients face to face and via phone and email
• Willingness to learn new skills and go places
• Ability to understand client’s needs and develop specifications and document requirements (for web sites, databases, hardware needs etc)
• Ability to understand a brief and work independently and complete tasks without direct supervision
• Be a motivated self-starter and able to multitask
• A proven ability to complete multiple tasks concurrently and work to deadlines
• Good project management / self time management
• A logical approach to understanding and solving problems
• An understanding of computers and how software works (Office etc) so you can help clients with their general computer problems (via phone and face to face on site)
• Some IT hardware skills (i.e., PC hardware and peripherals knowledge)
• Be a solid, technical all-‘rounder working within the networking / systems environment
• Working knowledge of Windows. Windows Server 2003/08 an advantage
• Experience and skills in Help Desk systems including remote support tools, call management & tracking tools
• Some life experience, common sense, hard-working, committed attitude and initiative
Web Development requirements and other preferred skills (preferable but optional)
• Be able to create great looking designs
• Ability to develop that design concept in Photoshop, code HTML, JavaScript and CSS and build the web site using Dreamweaver
• Initiative to effectively research and then implement technologies such as AJAX, JQuery, JS Libaries etc to implement web site features
• PHP / MySQL skills beneficial
• Experience with CMS preferable – either Silverstripe, Joomla, Drupal
• Ability to manipulate datasets between systems and databases
• Ability to troubleshoot / maintain Access database systems
Other Requirements
• Currently be physically present here in New Zealand (regardless of your current residency status).
• Be either a NZ citizen, or a Permanent Resident, or hold a valid NZ Work Visa/Permit
• Be willing to live and work in Wellington
• Have the people skills and comfort level to liaise on-site with customers face-to-face, oftentimes on your own
• Have superb “10 out of 10”, colloquial NZ English skills
• Have a minimum 1 year of commercial working experience (obviously the more years’ experience the better)
Hours and Place of Work
Typically 8.30 am to 5.00 pm in our funky apartment-style office.
You will be based at our office in Wellington CBD (Leeds Street off Dixon Street).
Occasionally you may need to travel to clients sites for meetings and work.
